Silly season is just around the corner; in fact it’s probably here already! With transfer stories flying around left, right and centre, it seems that many of the recent promoted players on the Index have been players linked with a possible move. With this in mind, I thought I’d have a snoop in the squad market to see who else is looking likely to join the first team in the near future.

Within the squad, currently in first place (as of time of writing) we have Madrid’s exciting talent Marco Asensio. The young Spaniard has been strongly linked with a move to Liverpool and Madrid appear to be ready to let him go. He’s not had a bad season by any stretch of the imagination and could prove to be a real shrewd purchase for Klopp. You can expect a value to push past the £1.00 barrier once he enters the fray, so make sure you grab him quick while you can!

Italian strikers seem to be all the rage these days and Domenico Berardi (2nd in the squad) is another star being linked with a big money move to Chelsea. With Diego Costa’s future uncertain, it’s clear that Chelsea are in the hunt for a striker and Berardi joins a stellar list of players including Lukaku (£4.79) and Morata (£3.37) in being linked with a possible move. We’ve seen with Andrea Belotti (£2.60) that speculation of a move to the Premier League can result in a value pushing the £3.00 and while Berardi probably won’t quite reach that level immediately; a few more links will do him no harm at all. He’s definitely one to watch closely.

As well as the current top 2 in the squad, there are many other names who could well prove to be interesting prospects over the coming weeks. By now we’ve all seen the insane talent on offer at Leonardo Jardim’s young and exciting Monaco side. Index favourites Kylian Mbappe (£2.65) and Bernardo Silva (£1.75) have already proven in the past that investors believe Monaco players are a safe bet. Tiemoue Bakayoko (£1.24) is another Monaco star who has caught the eye of the Premier League and he looks likely to make a move to Chelsea come the summer time. Monaco’s defensive midfielder Fabinho (4th in the Squad list) is another who is attracting lots of interest and with very good reason. For a predominantly defensive player, Fabinho offers an incredible attacking outlet. He’s reached double figures for goals for the season and Monaco will do well to keep hold of him come the start of next season.

A big name to remember for the future will be Vinicius Junior (109th in the squad). Real Madrid raised a few eye brows earlier this week after it seemed they had won the battle for Vinicius Junior’s signature by putting forward a massive €45m transfer fee. Even in this crazy market, that is a ludicrous amount for a 16 year old. Junior hasn’t even played for the first team for Flamengo yet, but he has been impressing at all levels of his development so far. With Barcelona also in the hunt, Madrid moved quickly so as to avoid another scenario similar to when they missed out on Neymar 3 years ago. It will be a couple of years before Junior officially joins Madrid, but he’s certainly going to be an interesting player for those looking for long term projects.

Another squad player to keep an eye on is Schalke defender Sead Kolašinac (68th in the squad) who seems a shoe in to be joining Arsenal on a free transfer. Man City are also apparently interested and the mega wages they can offer, could throw a spanner in the works for Arsenal, but so far, all the noise surrounding the Bosnian has seemed to point in the direction of the Premier League. I would expect Kolašinac to find his way into the first team before too long!

Remember that the player in second place in the squad will be promoted at 1:00pm today, whilst the player in first place will enter the mix at 1:15pm – happy promotion day!
