Match Day Dividends are only a couple weeks away now as the 2019/20 football season is fast approaching.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with the mechanics of Match Day Dividends, find out everything you need to know here.

Last season Traders returned large profits thanks to individual performances on the pitch. So make sure your portfolio is ready once again.

Here are the three highest accumulative Match Day Scoring La Liga attackers from last season and a wildcard to get Traders thinking:

1st – Lionel Messi (£4.89) – 4,875

Often referred to as the greatest of all time, Lionel Messi had another record-breaking year. He led Barcelona to another La Liga trophy and his third La Liga player of the season award in a row. Spectacular.

Last season, the Argentine recorded one of his best goalscoring runs. He posted up a whopping 36 goals and 13 assists from just 34 appearances. As if that wasn’t impressive enough, he also netted 12 times in the Champions League from just ten matches. Barca waltzed to their domestic glory with their little number 10 at the forefront of the success.

This season, the Catalan giants will hope to retain their La Liga title and have employed some serious additions to their attacking line-up. The 32-year-old will no doubt be scoring for fun yet again and seems an obvious choice for Traders to add to their portfolios.

2nd – Antoine Griezmann (£2.28) – 3,571

Antoine Griezmann has enjoyed a metioric rise to stardom as the leading man for both Atletico Madrid and World Champions France. He has recently been part of a rather messy transfer saga that has seen him move to La Liga Champions Barcelona. A dispute over the paid amount between the two Spanish giants should still allow the Frenchman to play, however details still need ironing out.

Last season, 28-year-old had his lowest-scoring season in the Spanish top division with 15 goals from 37 appearances. On the other hand, he got a joint career best for assists with nine and illustrated his ability as a deeper forward. As mentioned, his five-season spell with Los Rojiblancos has come to an end and many Traders saw a profit from his time playing at Wanda Metropolitano.

This season, he is joining an all-star cast at the Nou Camp with Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Ousmane Dembele and Coutinho to name a few. He is likely to jump straight into the starting eleven as Barcelona look to become Europe’s best once more. Many believe the best is yet to come from Griezmann.

3rd – Luis Suarez (£0.77) – 3,185

Nicknamed ‘El Pistolero’, it is safe to say most football fans have their own opinion on Luis Suarez. Love him or hate him, he has been one of the worlds most prominent strikers and has led the line with force for Barcelona.

The Uruguayan had another prolific season finding the net with 21 goals and also six assists. He teamed up with Lionel Messi in emphatic fashion for much of the season and whilst he is losing an inch of pace, he is becoming wiser at the spearhead to the attack.

It is unknown exactly how the introduction of the aforementioned Antione Griezmann will affect Luis Suarez’ game time. If Ernesto Valverde can find a way of getting all of the Barca firepower on the pitch at one time then it could cause mayhem for La Liga defences.

WILDCARD – Borja Iglesias (£0.71)

The 26-year-old’s first full season in La Liga proved to be a special one. Borja netted 17 goals and got three assists as he led Espanyol to seventh place and the Europa League qualifiers. He has a deadly eye for goal and operates well as a poacher upfront, however, there are still attributes of his game that need improving. His ball retention and awareness of the offside line can mean he frustrates a few Periquitos fans.

The Spaniard still has years ahead of him to grow and is part of an exciting Espanyol side – however, its attracting interest from numerous European sides. He is definitely worth adding to Traders portfolios who are looking for some more Match Day Dividends.
