Due to changes in policy by Visa and MasterCard regarding gambling payments in Sweden, we are unable to continue to allow customers in Sweden to use Football Index.
As a result of this, we will repatriate all Portfolio values to customers based in Sweden.
We apologise for the obvious inconvenience caused to our valued customers in Sweden. We were advised that we could continue to offer services to our existing users, while preparing a license application provided we did not actively target Swedish customers. Since then, potential restrictions on advertising and high media costs have meant that this will not be a viable strategy at this point. In the absence of a reliable payment option, we won’t be able to continue to deliver a satisfactory service.
Closing Sweden accounts will not impact customer accounts in the UK or any other country we currently operate in. The move is based purely on Swedish regulations, and Football Index will continue to operate in other markets. Player prices will be minimally affected due to the small amount of active Swedish accounts.
Once again, we apologise unreservedly to our customers in Sweden.
