As we approach the return of domestic football, there are a lot of talking points across La Liga heading into Match Day 4.

The action returns on under the Friday night lights as Mallorca host Athletic Club at the Son Moix. It’s also an action-packed Saturday with all of last season’s top four in action, including Barcelona’s clash with Valencia in a repeat of the Copa del Rey Final.

La Liga Match of the Weekend: Real Sociedad vs Atletico Madrid

The clash with Atletico Madrid sees Real Sociedad host the table-topers in their first home game of the season. In the newly refurbed Anoeta stadium, it provides an excellent opportunity for the Basque as Erreala to make a statement and push on for the season ahead.

If Sociedad are to push on, it will likely be lead by the mercurial Mikel Oyarzabal and the promising Martin Odegaard.

The 20-year-old is exceptionally talented, and has shown glimpses of his ability early on this season, scoring the only goal to earn Real Sociedad three points over Mallorca on Match Day 2.

Whilst it may be an opportunity for Sociedad to assert themselves, Atletico Madrid will take some beating in this game.

Looking to maintain their 100% record in La Liga in pursuit of another title win under Simeone, their new signings continue to gel and it could be a game where a new face takes all the headlines for Atleti.

Rest of the weekend:

Barcelona vs Valencia on Saturday afternoon is another enticing game this weekend. The hosts are set to be without Lionel Messi once more, and the reigning champions haven’t started the season as strongly as expected. They have trailed in all three games so far this season and a tricky Valencia side won’t make it an easy outing for the reigning champions.

Eibar face Espanyol with both sides heading into the game with one point, this contest could already be a 6-pointer in the race to avoid relegation.

Deportivo Alaves vs Sevilla on Sunday afternoon gives us a matchup between two unbeaten, promising sides so far with a result for either side putting them in good stead. Finally, Betis face Getafe after obtaining their first win of the season before the international break. Betis has settled in to life at Real Betis quickly and hopes are Borja Iglesias can find his feet soon.

La Liga Player to Watch: Eden Hazard vs Levante (£4.37)

Leganes enter Saturday’s showdown with Real Madrid ahead of them in the La Liga standings.

With Madrid’s turbulent start to the new season, all eyes will be on the return of Eden Hazard who is speculated to make his competitive league debut for Los Blancos.

In the absence of Gareth Bale, Hazard’s introduction couldn’t come at a better time as Zidane looks to add more firepower to his ranks. Can the Belgian help speed-up the Madrid rebuild? Only time will tell but Hazard will be in with a great chance for Match Dat & in-play dividends should he start.
