Despite the transfer window being closed, that hasn’t stopped the rumour mill splurging out plenty of stories ahead of this summer.

Clubs across Europe will be identifying targets ahead of the 20/21 campaign, which will mean plenty of players being linked with moves here, there and everywhere.

Wednesday 12 February Media Day Winners:

  • First Place: Hakim Ziyech (5p)
  • Second Place: Jadon Sancho (3p)
  • Third Place: Bruno Fernandes (1p)

Now, here’s the latest activity on the Index:

Jadon Sancho Sets the Pace Once More

No sooner had Jadon Sancho (£9.24) ousted Neymar (£8.53) as the Index’s most expensive player, he went one step further yesterday by breaking the £9.00 barrier.

He’s the first player post-Share Split to achieve such a feat, and it may have had something to do with a 64p increase and news that the 19-year-old could be leaving Borussia Dortmund in the summer.

Premier League duo Manchester United and Chelsea are said to be front-runners for his signature. In truth though, every top side in Europe will be chasing arguably the most exciting teenager on the planet currently.

Chelsea Close In On Ajax Star

Chelsea opted against making any signings in January, despite having their transfer ban lifted, but that looks set to change if the latest news is anything to go by.

According to reports, a £38m deal has been agreed between the Blues and Ajax for their Moroccan star Hakim Ziyech (£2.98), with said news resulting in his price rising by 70p.

It’s clear to see why when you break down his stats. Since the 2017/18 campaign, the 26-year-old has registered 47 goals and 36 assists in 96 Eredivise and Champions League games, while seemingly producing another stunning goal or pass on a weekly basis.

Add to that the fact that both Pedro (£0.49) and Willian (£1.08) are out of contract in the summer, then Frank Lampard looks to have moved quickly to partially fill the potential void.

Jude Bellingham At Centre of Transfer Tug-of-War

At just 16-years-old, Jude Bellingham (£3.65) is already making a big impression in the footballing world. After becoming Birmingham City’s youngest ever first-team player he hasn’t looked back, making 28 Championship appearances this season with four goals and two assists.

His 66p price increase however is down to activity off the field, namely transfer rumours linking the prodigious talent with moves to both Manchester United and Chelsea.

An astonishing £50m fee has been touted for the versatile midfielder such is his potential, meaning you could be hearing his name a lot during the summer transfer window.

Striking Duo See Prices Rise Amid Liverpool Interest

Liverpool appear to be head and shoulders above the rest of Europe this season, but that still hasn’t stopped them being linked with both outgoings and incomings.

Earlier this week it was reported that Roberto Firmino (£1.99) is a potential £75m target for Bayern Munich this summer, meaning that if, and it’s a big if, the Reds decided to sell, a replacement would be needed.

RB Leipzig star Timo Werner (£4.71) has been a name continually linked with Jurgen Klopp’s side, although signing him would be more as an addition rather than a direct replacement.

With 23 goals and seven assists in league and Champions League this season, Werner – who has risen by 20p in the last day – it’s clear to see why Liverpool are interested.

Another forward on the rise – by 48p in the last week – is Benfica’s Carlos Vinicius (£1.62). Like Firmino, the 24-year-old is also Brazilian and has been in fine form this season.

He’s scored 14 league goals this season in 18 games and could be another addition to the Reds’ potent forward line, as opposed to a replacement to the unlikely sale of Firmino.
