There’s no shortage of football for fans to savour between now and the weekend, as both the Premier League and Ligue 1 play a full round of fixtures this midweek – starting tonight.
The major game today sees Lyon face Lille, while other significant games over the course of the next few games include Jose Mourinho’s return to Manchester United with his rejuvenated Tottenham Hotspur side, as well as the small matter of the Merseyside derby.
It promises to be a round of fixtures that will more than help see fans through to the weekend.

It was inevitable then to see the Barcelona star dominate when it came to Media Dividends, with him taking the top spot on Monday, just as he did on Sunday.
Judging by the latest activity on the Index, it looks for now at least that he’s set to stay in the top spot for a third consecutive day, much to the delight of Traders who have the superstar in their portfolio.
Wilfried Zaha (£2.39) Backed to Maintain Recent Form
More recently however the 27-year-old has looked back to his best with goals in each of his last two games against Liverpool and Burnley, with Traders backing the Ivorian international to maintain his recent hot streak.
Zaha has seen his price increase by 6p ahead of Palace’s game against Bournemouth – who are without a win in three – so could be good value to maintain his goalscoring run against the Cherries tonight.
Lys Mousset (£1.17) Amongst Biggest Risers on the Index
His pace and power caused Manchester United all sorts of problems during their recent game, while a record of four goals and three assists in his last six league games shows how well he’s done this season leading the line for the promoted club.
It’s form that hasn’t gone unnoticed by Traders, with the 23-year-old one of the biggest risers, with his price going up by almost 20% ahead of the midweek fixtures, as Sheffield United take on Newcastle United.
Cagliari Mixing It With Serie A’s Best
While the likes of Juventus, Inter Milan and Lazio are expected to be competing near the top of Serie A, Cagliari aren’t a name accustomed to matters at the summit of the table, yet that’s just what’s happening this campaign.
Currently sat fourth, nine points off leaders Inter, Cagliari have enjoyed an impressive start to this season. Summer signing Radja Nainggolan (£0.77) has found his best form in recent weeks in what is his second stint at the club, with three goals and four assists in his last three games – as well as earning Star Player and Top Midfielder Dividends on Monday.
Only Ciro Immobile (17) and Romelu Lukaku (10) have scored more in Serie A than Cagliari’s Joao Pedro (£0.63) who has nine goals, while Luca Pellegrini (£0.74) is the Index’s fourth-biggest riser with an increase of just over 19%.
That was in part to him winning the Top Defender Dividends on Monday as Cagliari ran out 4-3 winners against Sampdoria. It stretches their unbeaten run to 12 Serie A games, eight of them ending in wins, as they look to keep in touch with the top sides in the division.
