The Index Goes Into Overdrive

What a day to be a member of the Football Index! Saturday saw unprecedented gains across the board and with a points increase of 433.26, it’s fair to say that Saturday was full of some pretty insane investment!

Throughout the day there was a flurry of excitement and trader movement and this was largely in response to the Manchester trader meet which took place Saturday night. These events are always a great opportunity for traders to meet up and share thoughts and strategies, whilst also having a bit of fun! The early gains were dominated by some of the biggest stars in world football; many of whom also broke their own price barriers respectively.

Leo Messi has had a week to remember and the Argentine trickster has been smashing it in the Media Buzz since his performance against Chelsea in the Champions League. With the dividends for Messi piling up, it was only a matter of time until he jumped up and the last week has seen some massive investment. As a result, this has resulted in his current price tag and a new entrant to the £10.00 club.

Antoine Griezmann is another star who has been killing it on the market this week. With a big increase in 7 days, it looks as though it’s once again full steam ahead for the Griezy Train! Considering Griezmann’s exploits during the European Championships two years ago (in which he was top goal scorer with 6 goals), he seems a safe bet to continue his increase in value in the run-up to Russia 2018.

Then there is the incredible story of the Brazilian wonder Neymar. Currently, Neymar remains the only player partying it up in the £11.00 club, but it’s no wonder really… Despite his injury, Neymar can’t help but continue to dominate the news headlines. There are still rumours of a move to Madrid this summer, which would cause absolute pandemonium in Spain – so let’s hope it happens! The Barca fans threw a pig’s head on the pitch when Luis Figo joined Madrid almost 20 years ago, can you imagine what they’d come up with if Neymar makes the move to the Bernabeu?! Whatever they do, it’s sure to be big news and that can only mean more Media Buzz wins for the Brazilian!

One last star to keep an eye on at the moment is, of course, Cristiano Ronaldo. Ronaldo is another player who is sure to be on everyone’s lips come the summer and he will definitely play a leading role if Portugal are to repeat their international success. Ronaldo once again highlights the growing trend at this moment of time, which appears to indicate that many of the players making the biggest gains are some of the more pricey players on the market. Considering the profiles many of these stars command, it is likely that the World Cup will be the perfect platform to showcase their talents (and hopefully bring about even more profits as well!)

With the Index now well and truly past the 15,000 point total, traders across the country will have been surely treated to a sea of green as they inspected their portfolios this morning. With the way things are going at the moment, it looks like this trend is certainly going to continue for quite some time!
